1987 Formation of the company

The businessman Walter Eckhardt founds his own truckage company with the principal office in Ludwigsburg at the goods station. The first partial and complete loads are delivered to Berlin and the Ruhr Basin.
Everything started with four employees, one truck and faithful customers. In best time, further trucks were purchased and several specialists were employed. The compound got tight and larger premises had to be found.

1991 Relocation to Stuttgart-Stammheim

Diversification and a constant growth during the first years of business necessitate the relocation to Schwieberdingerstraße at Stuttgart-Stammheim.
Immediately after the German Unification, Echkhardt Spedition+Logistik is one of the most innovative providers of logistics with several departures a day to the important centers of industry in Germany.

1995 Relocation to Solitudeallee 12

The second relocation to our current office at Solitudeallee 12 in Stuttgart-Stammheim was required because of further growth of the transportation of consolidated consignments and sensitive products. Located on our 7500m² compound is the administration, a high rack storage area, a block storage and a storage area for hazardous goods as well as 2000m² for the handling of cargo.
In the beginning, nearly 60 employees were working here to attend the needs of our customers all over federal territory within 24/48 hours. We had 25 air-suspensioned trucks for long-distance traffic, more than 100 swap trailers, 15 trucks for short-distance traffic and oversized transports.

1996 The first certification

The company focuses consequently on quality and efficiency. In this year, we were certificated according to DIN ISO 9002.
In the meantime, Eckhardt Spedition+Logistik is a long accredited, competent and reliable partner for all kinds of transportation as consolidated consignments, partial and complete loads or oversized goods. Even the delicate transportation of hazardous materials and botanical or other refrigerated transports are no problem for us.

2001 Marc Eckhardt joins the company management

In October 2001, Marc Eckhardt joins the company management. He will be responsible for the acquisition of new customers, as well as the optimization of internal and external business processes.
Six specially equipped trucks for botanical transportations were purchased because of the very successful results in this area of business this year.

2004 First Hubtransport to the conveyance terminal

In September, the first hubtransport to the conveyance terminal Malsfeld near Kassel takes place. As new partner of the logistics-cooperation Spedition 2000 we are able to deliver packaged cargo within 24/48 hours.
Since after the start of the cooperation, we are on the top 3 ranked carriers on the internal statistics of the most reliable members.

2006 Hubtransport Spedition 2000 & VTL

the general cargo- cooperation Spedition 2000 merges with the VTL Vernetzte-Transport-Logistik ("combined-transport-logistics") in Fulda. Spedition 2000 stops business on 30th of June. On the 1st of July the present associates become new associates of the VTL company. As a consequence the VTL-network possesses over 78 stations in Germany.

2009 changeover of the transports-software

In order to meet the requirements of our customers concerning shipment-tracking and administration, we invest in a new transport-software. The changeover will be completed at the end of 2009. By the end of 2009 all local traffic vehicles will be equipped with the latest scanner-technology to provide an precisely timed shipment-tracking. 

Also, in the future we will critically evaluate our business every day in order to assure ideal conditions to walk new ways alongside our loyal customers.
